"Wedding Bells" I Heart Faces Photo Contest Entry

I'm not sure if I did this right... in fact, I know I did this wrong. BUT, because Jasmine Star is the guest judge for this week's photo contest I am just going to go for it. Here is my "wedding bells" photo contest entry from the one wedding I have shot. I really liked all of their photos, but this one just made me feel special looking at it. Like I was invisible and captured a beautiful moment between them. The angle came from trying to fit the cross into their moment as a reminder and symbol. It just seemed to fit perfectly to me. Anyway, I thought I would enter this just because.

Daddy's Day Gift

Father's Day is now over, so I can go ahead and post these pictures from a secret mini-session I did with this family a little while ago. Running, sweating, and laughing. That is what I remember most from this session. AND some surprisingly fabulous shots of the kids with mommy for the surprise Father's Day gift. These kids were absolutely nonstop - which was so good for me. Up until now I have never had kids with this much energy. I mean I was RUNNING. Full speed. Just to catch up to them. And to be completely honest, I really had no idea what these pictures were going to look like when I got home. I just imagined seeing blurry shot after blurry shot of these fireballs. Except when I pulled out the giant lollipops. I was confident I'd get a few good ones of them sitting still for a few minutes... but the rest? It was a toss up.

Just imagine my happiness when these downloaded off of my camera... shew! It turns out I was able to catch a few - and looking back through them I sense the energy of these kids all over again. And I start sweating. It really was a fun session :) And a good workout.

The fabulous mommy you see here is also my friend Karen. The girl designs and makes bags - the cutest EVER. You can go check her out here.

This was the actual gift.... a 10x20 Storyboard. It really turned out so adorable - I couldn't have been happier with it.

Thanks guys for so much fun! I look forward to the next session with all of you. And I'll wear my tennis shoes for sure. :)

Vote for me?

Well... I guess you have to be a pro photographer with a Miller's account... so, if you are, keep reading - and vote :) (If you're not, thank you anyway. And stop by for the next post. I'm getting my store canvases in today!!! Whoo hooo. I'll be posting lots of pics of those.)

I'm just going to go for it. I need your votes and I'm going to post the link so you can go vote! Now, be warned... there are alot of pictures to go through until you find mine... but, please, do NOT give up. Find them. And vote for them! I would LOVE to win :)

Here are the pics to vote on. And yes, you do need to scroll through quite a few - but they are about 4 pages from the end on the color category and the black and white category. I have one under humorous too, so, find that one if you can :)

And leave me a comment to let me know you found them and voted for me! I would love to know who actually spent 5 minutes of their day scrolling and going crossed-eyed looking at so many pictures just for me :) In fact, as a thank you I'll give away a $20 Starbucks card to one random voter at the end of the voting period - June 30. So, leave your comment! The caffine will un-cross your eyes :)

Happy Anniversary to Us

Well, we just celebrated our 8th Anniversary a few days ago - June 2. 8 years!!! I can hardly believe it's been that long, yet, it's hard to remember what life was like before Jamie. He is my rock. He is my voice of logic. He is my best friend and hunk of hot sexy man. I just love him and praise the Lord for giving him to me. I'm excited to see what the next 8 years have in store.

And we were sitting at Olive Garden talking about our last Anniversary. He was talking, I was scarfing down the salad and soup and breadsticks - I could barely hear him above my chomping. I forgot how much I'm in love with Olive Garden salad. I really couldn't get enough. Pure heaven. But my belly is trying to forget - and it was NOT feeling the love the next morning. yikes. I guess there is such as thing as too much Olive Garden salad. wow. i think it got angry at me. sorry salad. i promise not too much next time. maybe :)

Oh, I was saying - last Anniversary we were there at Olive Garden (now that I think about it - that was the last time I was there! NO WONDER I couldn't get enough. whoa.) and talking about me starting a photography business. I didn't even have my Canon yet and was just talking...blah..blah..blah. Then I didn't even think it would really happen. WOW. Look at what a year has done. It's just incredible. And purely magical to look back and see a dream come true. The Lord has absolutely blessed me and it is all for His glory. He has done a great thing in my life.

So here we are. Just us. I brought child #3 along on our date - accompanied by friendly tripod and we took a few cute shots downtown in Pensacola. It turned too dark after about a 1/2 hour, but I did manage to get a couple cute ones... and then a flash picture at the end. (yuck. I am anti-flash, but I posted it so you could see us. on our anniversary date. it was a special night.) aren't we cute :)

Signature Selections Needs a Face

Okay, I've been working on a little project. My friend and neighbor and mommy of my Alissa's best friend is opening up a boutique....Signature Selections. It will be full of bags and jewelry and baby items and gifts - ANYTHING you could think of and more, she's got it. And let me tell you, the girl has taste. GREAT taste. Her place will be the cutest anywhere. I promise. And the reason for the Signature in the Selections is because whatever you want from her store can be monogrammed! She will monogram anything and everything from her "Selections". There's nothing more special and from the heart than a gift with something personal and unique added to it just for you. I can't love her store any more. And it's not even open yet ;)

But this brings me to my little project. I get to put my work on her walls! I'm so excited!!! Now, I just need to figure out which ones... yikes. Now I know how clients feel when trying to decide on which image to order - it's so hard to decide!!! So, I thought I would ask for help. Because I'm like that. If I'm driving around town lost, I won't hesitate to pull up to the first gas station I see and ask for directions. I walk into Lowe's to pick something up for Jamie, do I wander around the store for an hour? Nope. Not this girl. I go right to the blue vest people and ask. Or are they red vest people?

Anyway, here I am asking... which of these pics would look great on a big canvas hanging in the cutest store in the world? Of course I will choose some from previous shoots, but I needed a place to start. Just leave a comment on what you think! I can't wait to see which ones I'll be printing :)
